Bonham ISD is Having a Bond Election

On May 6, 2023, the Bonham ISD community will have the opportunity to vote on the district’s $64.4 million bond package.

What is included in this bond?

L.H. Rather Junior High - $64.4M

  • Renovation of upstairs classrooms, the 1992 addition, housing grade 6

  • Two-story classroom addition north of competition gym, housing grades 7-8

  • Includes multi-purpose facility, including a stage for student performances

  • Includes Vo-Ag classrooms

  • Includes Band Hall

  • Includes Cafeteria in main building

  • Robyn C. Hill Competition Gym renovation

  • Practice field relocated to south end of campus

What does this look like for Bonham ISD?

The campus reconfiguration was strategically examined to ensure benefits are maximized for Bonham ISD.

How will this affect my taxes?

There is no tax rate change associated with this bond.

What happens if the bond doesn’t pass?

If the bond doesn’t pass, the price of construction will continue to increase with inflation, costing the District and taxpayers more money in the future. The district will also continue the use of portables at two campuses.
