Outlook Express Reconfiguration Instructions

 

1. Launch Outlook Express (you will get an error, just cancel out of the error).

2. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'

3. Click on the "Mail" tab.

4. Then click on "Properties".

5. Click on the "Servers" tab.

6. Enter 'pop.gmail.com' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:' field. Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field. Also in the Account Name field, add @bonhamisd.org to the end of your account name. In the Password field enter the password you used when setting up your online mail account. (be sure there is a check in "My Server Requires Authentication")

7. Click the 'Advanced' tab. Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Outgoing Mail (SMTP).' Enter '465' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP):' field. Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Incoming mail (POP3).' The port will change to 995.

8. Click 'OK.'

9. You may have to close, the reopen Outlook Express for the changes to take effect.

10. You now need to Perform these steps under enabling POP in Gmail.
