Beginning a New Document

If Word is already open, start a new document by following either of the steps:
Go to FILE of the menu bar and click NEW.
     OR
Click on the ICON for new on the standard toolbar.


Opening Existing Documents

To open up documents that were previously created, follow any of these steps:
1. Go to the START button on the task bar, select OPEN OFFICE DOCUMENT.
2. A window will open. Click on the down arrow where is says LOOK IN: and locate the file to open.
3. HIGHLIGHT the file to open and click OPEN – or just
DOUBLE-CLICK on the file.
     OR
1. With Word open, go to FILE on the menu and click OPEN.
2. A window will open. Click on the down arrow where is says LOOK IN: and locate the file to open.
3. HIGHLIGHT the file to open and click OPEN – or just DOUBLE-CLICK on the file.
     OR
1. DOUBLE-CLICK the ‘MY DOCUMENTS’ folder icon.
2. DOUBLE-CLICK the file to open.
