WELCOME BACK!!
You have a little over two weeks under your belt and I hope you are settling into a groove - I think I am beginning to.
I have to share a piece of very good news about the start of the 2021-2022 school year. BISD's enrollment has grown by 225 students as compared to the first day last year! As of yesterday, our enrollment was 1899 - one away from 1900. Finley-Oates, L.H. Rather and BHS are realizing enrollment numbers not seen in many years. While some classes have larger numbers, this is a good problem to have. We have more than made up our enrollment loss from last year and have added many new students as well. I have always known Bonham ISD is the BEST place to learn and grow and it is refreshing to see, parents and students agree.
I am proud each of you chose to be part of the Warrior Family this year - you are the reason BISD is so special.

Driveway Improvements at Finley-Oates Elementary
Community partnerships at their best!! Great ‘fix’ until our permanent solution can be put into motion next summer.
The City of Bonham Streets Dept. patched the pickup line on the north side of Finley-Oates earlier this week. Thanks to the City of Bonham for always willing to help on this project and so many more!

COVID UPDATE
Information to construct the flowchart was taken from TEA's Public Health Guidance document that set forth mandates and recommendations for public schools to follow.
Campus administrators and clinic staff will use it to guide decisions as we navigate school with COVID this year.

Current COVID Count
The chart can be found on the Bonham ISD website at www.bonhamisd.org. It will be found by selecting the 'Parents' link across the top, clicking on the COVID Information link and clicking the BISD COVID Count button.
The most important part of the chart to me is the overall percentage of staff and students who are currently COVID positive. As you can see, as of this Wednesday, Bonham ISD had only a 2% infection rate.

COVID Case Notification Protocols
Consistent with school notification requirements for other communicable diseases and consistent with legal confidentiality requirements, Bonham ISD will notify all teachers, staff and families of all students in a classroom or extracurricular or after-school program cohort if a test-confirmed COVID-19 case is identified among students, teachers or staff who participated in those classrooms or cohorts.
Beginning Monday, August 30th:
PK - 3 families can expect a letter delivered via email when a student or staff member in their individual child's classroom or cohort reports being test-confirmed with COVID-19.
Due to numerous transitions of students into changing class periods each day, families with students in grades 4-12 can expect a letter delivered via email to the entire campus when a test-confirmed COVID case is received by the campus.
Notification emails will be sent no later than one business day after the report is received by the campus.
Staff will be notified in person, or via email/text if they are off-campus, when a test confirmed COVID case is reported in their classroom or cohort group. In addition, campuses that are notifying all families on campus (Evans, L.H. Rather and BHS) via email will include the campus staff email group.
