Prepared and released by Texas Education Agency (TEA) annually, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) details academic performance, financial reports, and information about staff, programs, and demographics for the district and each campus.
TAPR academic performance includes information on STAAR test results and participation rates. The report disaggregates performance on state and national assessments across fourteen student groups based on race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, and program services.
Within Postsecondary Readiness, TAPR combines attendance, dropout and graduation rates, along with course completion rates for students earning advanced/dual credit, completed career and technology (CTE) coherent sequence, and Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate (AP/IB) prior to high school graduation. Additional information on postsecondary enrollment is also provided under Postsecondary Outcomes.

The Texas Education Code (TEC), §39.306, requires each school district’s Board of Trustees to publish an annual performance report that includes the TAPR report; campus performance objectives and the progress toward those objectives; district accreditation status; campus distinction designation and ratings; the district’s current special education compliance status; report on violent or criminal incidents; and information from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Data and information presented within the 2023-24 District Annual Report was generated from 2023-24 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) released by Texas Education Agency.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires each State education agency to prepare and publish an annual report card with state-, district- and campus-level data.
The Federal Report Card (FRC) was prepared and released by Texas Education Agency (TEA) annually. FRC combines information from the state’s A-F rating system, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and includes participation rates on state/national tests. Additional school and student information includes data reported to the Office of Civil Rights, Teacher Quality, Per-pupil Expenditure, Postsecondary Enrollment, and Chronic Absenteeism.
Our 2024-25 Federal Report Card was released by Texas Education Agency (TEA) on December 18, 2025.

Bonham ISD Administration sometimes receives questions from parents about “opting out” of state testing. The intent of this response is to provide clarification of the state law and provide transparency regarding state testing requirements so parents can make informed decisions about STAAR testing.
Bonham ISD fully respects and acknowledges requests to have students opt out of STAAR testing; however, under state and federal laws, the District is unable to honor this type of request because it is not an option offered in Texas.
